Produced entirely with Mexican talent, it is made to be seen as a family — and so that a spectator who has never been to the theatre leaves understanding why people go.

«Antes de aprender a operar un cuerpo, aprendí a moverlo. Diez años bailando con «Jarocha», dos Lunas del Auditorio, giras dentro y fuera de México. Después vino el conservatorio, y después la medicina. Nunca sentí que estuviera cambiando de oficio. "Before I learned to operate on a body, I learned to move one. Ten years dancing with 'Jarocha', two Lunas del Auditorio awards, tours inside and outside Mexico. Then came the conservatory, and then medicine. I never felt I was changing trades.
Un cirujano mexicano no mira el cuerpo humano como lo mira un cirujano de Florencia. Lo mira desde una cultura que llevaba siglos midiéndolo, pintándolo y ofrendándolo. MEXICA existe para nombrar esa herencia en voz alta —y para que mis hijos sepan de dónde vienen las manos con las que trabajo.» A Mexican surgeon does not look at the human body the way a surgeon from Florence does. He looks at it from within a culture that had spent centuries measuring it, painting it and offering it up. MEXICA exists to name that inheritance out loud — and so my children know where the hands I work with come from."
